Hey there-thanks for the shout out for my P.B & Pumpkin Protein Smoothie/Shake (whatever you want to call it!LOL!). Now I'm nervous! HA!

I'm telling you-I will NEVER go back to cheap WHEY again. I'm glad I decided to fork over the bucks for the IsoPure brand. Totally worth it (to me-but hey, to each their own, right). I'll be ordering the chocolate flavor soon! :)

I was just telling my boyfriend last night how excited I am that it's the start of the season where everything pumpkin-flavored comes out. I'll definitely be making this!

What differences did you notice between the cheap whey and your IsoPure? Is it taste? Texture?
Definitely the taste. With the cheap whey, you get a more "chalky" taste (I knew it was there, but it wasn't 'real' bad and for the price, $15.00, I figured I could/would get used to it). Same thing with the texture! Major Difference. With the cheap why I definitely have to use a mini blender (you still have that chalkiness), but with the IsoPure, I'm guessing you wouldn't have to. Case In Point: yesterday I drank a glass of s.free almond milk w/a couple sqirts of s.free (made w/erythritol) strawberry syrup and while drinking it I was wishing I could add a scoop of the IsoPure Whey! I was actually craving the stuff! Now THAT never happened with the cheap!

Oh, one more thing - I've made l.carb waffles with the cheap whey and they taste like you're eating the powder whey mix, with the IsoPure, the taste was soo good (however dry - I need to fix that before I post the recipe).

So there you have it. In my opinion, the cheap whey, even if it's "vanilla flavored", still has way too much plain whey flavor...comes through too much and can ruin a really good shake/recipe.
No need to be nervous! It looks delicious!

I've never tried IsoPure, but I HAVE had the cheap stuff, and I'm never going back, either. The difference between the cheap stuff I've tried and what I use now is all taste.

The IsoPure is actually (I think) cheaper than the Max protein I buy, so I'm interested in trying it sometime.
Great finds, Tracey! That butter dressing has me really excited for some chicken breast, and I can't believe I'd never thought to pumpkin-flavor my shakes.

Do you have any interest in caramel? I've been finding myself craving it a lot lately, and this recipe from Comfy Belly looks wonderful to me. Of course we'll need to substitute something for the honey, but I can imagine myself throwing a little into every smoothie ever.

I'm waaaaay into that lemony-butter sauce, too. I might make it tomorrow night.

Caramel has never really excited me much, but it sounds fun to make. I've always wanted to see cream and sugar turn into pure candy.

If you just want the caramel taste without the work, the caramel sugar free DaVinci syrup is great in smoothies. I add it to a coffee-flavored drink once in a while. Any chance FreshDirect carries those syrups?
I think FreshDirect focuses more on the all-natural stuff, which I appreciate, but it means I'll probably never find any of those interesting sugar-free products.

I know Starbucks has some syrups, though, so maybe I'll get really crazy some day and ask for a squirt of sugar-free caramel in my heavy cream.
Just ask for entire cup of sugar-free syrup like you do the cream and see what happens. (Can you even imagine how much they would charge you?!)

Or just order some from Carbsmart: http://www.carbsmart.com/davinci.html
Carb Smart is great. I also realized there are a ton of sugar free and low-carb products on Amazon. I'm eagerly awaiting my first batch of products.
Thanks for the shout-out for the Baked Pesto Chicken. Hope you enjoy it.

I love how easy it looks. Can't wait to try it!
Smoothie looks yummy. I've been doing low carb for a month or so and it's going well, but haven't gotten into the shakes and protein powder stuff. Might try it this week!

Hi, NYC-friend-who-never-actually-spends-any-time-in-NYC! I'm pumped to know that you're a low-carber, too.

I didn't do any shakes for the first three months I was on Atkins and basically just lived on meat, cheese, and broccoli. I lost a ton of weight really fast that way but also got burnt out pretty quickly. This time, I'm taking things slower and allowing myself lots of little treats. Shakes taste like dessert and fill you up, especially if you use heavy cream in them, so go for it!
I have rarely seen so many recipes in one place that I want to try at once! Thank you so much.
