Mark's Daily Apple: "Perfect Steak" (A detailed tutorial on types, cuts, and cooking methods.)

smitten kitchen: Skirt Steak Salad with Blue Cheese (There's a smidgen of honey in the dressing, but I know you folks are wise enough to use your sweetener of choice.)

Cheeseslave: Croque-Madame (An open-faced French breakfast sandwich for our readers who still allow themselves a little bread.)

Grace2882: Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Jennifer Eloff: Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies

Maria Emmerich: Cheesy Dehydrated "Popcorn" (This one was too weird not to share. It's dehydrated cauliflower!)

That steak post was cool. I've had a real craving for a steak made at home, cooked by ladling butter over it repeatedly. Kamran hasn't allowed this in his apartment yet–figuring I'll get the butter all over his tiny stovetop–so it may have to be a Jack's-apartment thing.

I also like a croque madame so much more now that I know it means Ms. Crunch.

Do they sell croque madames all over NYC? I had never even heard of the things.
Oh, yeah, it's a classic brunch item here.

That I never order, of course, because I'm too busy getting French toast with extra syrup.
Thanks to Katie for stopping by my blog! We all owe Jimmy Moore a BIG hug!

I tried MDA's perfect steak and it worked GREAT! What a great alternative when it's too cold or rainy to grill outside! And my husband's sooooo excited that I can now cook a steak without him firing up the grill (not that he was complaining).

Welcome, carbzilla!

Ooh, it's great to hear that steak method work so well. I'm actually not so into grill-cooked food, and I'm really excited to try this out.
Thanks for the link love!!!

Ooh, this sounds totally delicious. I've done peach and apricot with my pork chops before, but I've only had pineapple with ham. I'm trying this for sure. I have to be careful, though. I love pineapple a little too much and might end up eating the whole can and drinking down all the sugary juice!
Thanks, Tracey. ((HUGS))

You're very welcome.

I keep meaning to grab vital wheat gluten every time I'm at the store, and I keep forgetting. I can't wait to try these cookies.
I just found out the other day that The Guy has never had spaghetti squash before! So we're gonna have to give it a try and see if he likes it.

Let us know how it goes!

Something about fall makes squash seem perfect, even if you're having it in the most non-squashy way possible.

And speaking of squash? I finally tried those Squash Fries from the first Recipe Roundup post , and they are FANTASTIC.
